Traffic Stats, Rankings and Comment Status of Wizard Journal in December 2010

December was a month of complete amazement for me because my blog Wizard Journal finally hit the target that i had set for it. I made some revenue off Google Ads, gained nearly 60K page views and more than 35,000 unique visitors.

The day when my Google Adsense Account was activated i was very happy but later realized that people don’t click ads that often and thus the earnings would be a little slow.

Although my domain name has been registered for more than 8 months now but i started blogging after 2 months so technically my blog is 6 months old. I don’t think these stats are bad for a 6 month old technology blog but i want more… seriously.

I am planning to add more evergreen quality articles consisting of useful how-to articles and stuff.

I am happy to say that i won a blogging contest organized by TCS IT Wiz, you can read my post – Tough IT Quiz and tell me if you liked my blog post and was it deserving enough to win the contest.

Some Goals for Wizard Journal in the year 2011

• Get a Google Pagerank >2
• More than 100,000 visitors per month
• More than 300,000 page views per month
• $500 per month in revenue
• Publish at least 500 high quality evergreen posts

These are some of my target for my Wizard Journal technology blog for the year 2011. I don’t know at the moment, if these will come true or not but that is not a reason for not blogging hard.

I am currently working on my exams as well so i will give blogging a 3rd priority.

Okay, so without further discussion let’s hit the stats section.

• Visits: 35.3K
• Page views: 57.744K
• Pages/Visit: 1.63
• Bounce Rate: 70.20% (On Alexa it is less than 30%)

• Alexa Rank: 81,540
• Traffic Rank in India: 7462.

So that’s all, before this i had written goals for year, now its time to state some goals for January 2010.

Targets for January 2010

• More than 45000 visitors
• More than 100,000 Page views
• 30-40 high quality technology posts
• $100 in revenue from Google Adsense and Infolinks
