The casual ‘tower destruction’ game which ruled almost all the mobile phone platforms for nearly 2 years have now got an exclusive Angry Birds Store in Helsinki, Finland. Rovio Mobile, the guys behind Angry Birds series were planning to launch a Angry Birds Store in China first but then they decided to launch its first in their home turf.
You know it very well that Angry Birds is a very popular game worldwide. It has been played by millions of iOS, Android, Symbian and Palm Smartphone users. In fact, I have seen several Smartphone companies promoting their Smartphone and Tablets with this game.
Angry Birds series is very popular in China for more than one reason. Yes, people love playing this casual action game on their Smartphone but also China is a huge market for Angry Birds merchandise and Toys. As of now, Rovio hasn’t released much Angry Birds official merchandise in China but Chinese markets are filled with fake merchandise including school bags, pencil kits, pencils, slippers, T-shirts, iPhone cases etc.
What’s inside Official Angry Birds Store?
The Angry Birds Store which opened up in Finland got a great response from local crowd. People like this casual game a lot because of one more reason – The Birds (they are so… cute!). As of now, Rovio is selling Angry Birds Cookbooks, pencil/ eraser (School kit) and stuffed toys which were released by the brand last year.
One more interesting thing, which Rovio has put in their Angry Birds Store, is the Slingshot. It is huge in size but not operational, people can’t use it sling Angry Birds Toys on each other. It is sort of a swing, where you can sit your children and take their pictures for your Facebook or their Facebook or just for sweet memories with your kids’ favorite mobile phone game.
Angry Birds toys are really cute; they are fluffy, soft and have that angry expression on their face. Demand for this game’s merchandise has experienced a hike in India as well. I have seen many people roaming on the streets with Angry Birds shoes, backpacks and T-Shits. Since, Rovio hasn’t opened an official merchandise retail store in India yet, most of those products are counterfeit.
I think Rovio has managed to instill a long-lasting madness regarding Angry Birds among people and this madness won’t wear off easily. Opening a Angry Birds Store containing official merchandise is going to bring people to their stores and money to their bank account.
