Most Popular Gadget of 2010: iPhone 4 and iPad
This year was great for geeks because so many new “path-breaking” gadgets made their way in the global market. eBay which is a premier eCommerce portal on the web registered a record number of searches for 2 of the most anticipated products from Apple in the year 2010. Yes, I am talking about Apple iPhone 4 and Apple iPad which became most popular gadgets of 2010.
eBay usually handles more than 2 billion search requests every single year and after analyzing the data thoroughly, they came to a conclusion that Apple was ruling the searches on their eCommerce website.
Christmas was a happy day for Apple iPhone 4 developers since the sales of their games almost doubled, tripled in some cases. The holiday period was certainly a high point on eBay Search as well since people were finding products to gift their relatives etc.
Apple certainly dominated the eBay list of “Hot Product Search of 2010” with iPad and iPhone 4 placing themselves at the top 2 spots. As I said earlier, every other brand launches tens of products every year and Apple sticks with just one or two that really shape the market around them. Apple iPhone 4 and iPad are truly the most popular gadgets of 2010.
It was also calculated from the search results that gadgets and electronics dominated the year 2010 since Wii Games, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Nikon D90, laptops were searched heavily too.
eBay Search Results of 2010 suggested that besides gadgets, searches for Victoria’s Secret, Diamond Ring and Sunglasses were also on high.
It was not like these products were just searched, they were sold heavily too. iPhone 4 that ranked No. 2 in the eBay search results analytics sold more than 1.6 million products related to iPhone 4 and 2.2 million products related to Apple iPad which shows they are most popular gadgets of 2010.
Ironically, eBay’s rival Amazon didn’t had any of the two in its top 10 list of products in 2010 since Amazon sells neither iPad nor iPhone 4. The Amazon Kindle, its official eBook Reading device took the sweet spot at No. 1 thus becoming another most popular gadgets of 2010.
2010 was a truly a year of gadgets and year 2011 is also expected to be a year of intelligent communications.
