It seems that HTC Evo 4G Smartphone is ready to get its operating system updated. It currently shelters Android OS v2.2 (Froyo), read more about it [here] but it is expected that on June 6 it would get an official upgrade to Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread).

But who would like to wait for official update when you might find the download files available this Friday. Anyone who has no problem in upgrading the device manually can check for updates this Friday to upgrade HTC Evo 4G’s core to Gingerbread.

In addition to Gingerbread, updates regarding better Gmail, better SMS and phone’s power management software would also be available to users. This update would be available over-the-air.

So, it seems that this Friday could be the last when you would be able to use Froyo on your handsets.
