It seems the rumour that “iPhone 4S might be launched in India soon” has some truth behind it. Airtel and Aircel, two telecom companies in India who launched Apple iPhone 4 in India not so long ago have confirmed that they are going to launch Apple iPhone 4S in India on 25th of November.
Apple iPhone 4S gained a mixed bag of reaction from the technology world when it was launched in early October. Some said that it is the best Smartphone ever developed by Apple while some felt that iPhone 4S is not too different from its predecessor – iPhone 4 (which is almost correct).
Both Airtel and Aircel openly confirmed that they are going to launch Apple iPhone 4S in India on November 25. Aircel announced this “good news” on their Facebook Page while Airtel confirmed it by other means. Both companies are going to sell Apple iPhone 4S in India at a premium price, you can pre-order the phone from Airtel at a pre-order price of Rs. 44,500 ($867.97) for the 16 GB model.
Apple iPhone 4S was ranked numero uno in the list of Hottest Selling Smartphone in United States. In fact, iPhone 4S gave Sprint – the best daily sales figure it had ever gained (Sprint’s unlimited data plans could be another factor, though).
There are a couple of new features that you can find in the new iPhone 4S over its predecessor. It runs on iOS 5 which has several useful apps pre-installed. These pre-installed apps can be accessed from the menu or by using Siri (a really smart virtual assistant). It has got an 8-megapixel camera sensor that enables you to capture superfine, sharp images with image stabilization and records videos at Full HD 1080p resolution.
Both Aircel and Airtel are going to launch Apple iPhone 4S in India with contract in which they are going to offer their 3G network in addition to the device. I don’t think 3G network has had much success in India therefore if you’re planning to buy Apple iPhone 4S in India, do wait for some time because Apple may launch iPhone 4S unlocked here or buy it from Amazon.
