All New Apple iOS 5 un-covered at WWDC 2011
At the Apple’s WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) this year, Scott Forstall removed the lid from their freshly prepared, delicious new operating system for Apple devices – iOS 5.
The iOS 5 update would be available for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1 and 2, iPod 3rd and 4th Generation.
There would be a lot of new cool updates in the Apple iOS 5 that would let you experience whatever you do on your iOS device in a much more organized and personalized way.
As of now, Apple iOS devices are going pretty strong in market. According to the official statistics told by Scott, more than 200 million iOS devices have been sold till date, out of which 25 million were iPads; more than 14 billion apps have been downloaded from Apple Store which has grossed net revenue of $2.5 billion for app developers.
Let’s check out the updates that would be available in Apple iOS 5.
All New Features in Apple iOS 5
Notification Center: An interface that combines all your social network, phone carrier, message updates in a single list. You would be able to read all your important notification by just swiping through a single list. You would also get an X button that would let you dismiss that update or that application.
Newsstand: Read all your subscribed magazines and newspaper within a single application and manage your subscriptions easily.
Twitter Integration: An application that log in to various sites associated with twitter with a single touch. With this app, you would be able to share images, videos and tweets, of course, with your followers directly from your galleries.
Safari Reader: Just like the one available for Mac, this lets you read the content on any internet page without the unnecessary distractions like ads etc. It would also feature Tabbed browsing to the Safari Browser which would make accessing internet way more interesting on iOS devices.
Reminders: It would remind you about your tasks and other chores based on your location. It’ll sync with all your iOS devices.
Enhanced Camera Interface: Now, there would be a camera button right on your lockscreen, volume-up button would also doubling up as a physical shutter release key while using the camera app, Pinch-to-zoom, edition options etc. would also be available.
Split Keyboard: It would make typing a bit faster and error free.
NFC in Action: Connect to your Mac or PC without any cables, it would enable you to send files or updates over the air, though a bit unstable, it would make the process faster.
iMessage: A BBM like messenger for iOS devices, this would be of great use to you, if you like send a lot of texts.
iCloud: Sync your stuff with other devices and people over the cloud.
That’s a lot of new features that would be made available soon for iOS devices. Do check out your iPhone regularly if the updates are available because they can hit your area anytime. I am sure that Apple has put in a lot of thought in developing features like Twitter Integration, Notification Center and NFC because that would give you a great experience with iPhone.
