The movie commences with Mark Zuckerberg having a heated conversation about his future and his ideas to change the computer world with Erica Albright, his girlfriend. The heated conversation breaks apart and so does their relationship.

Full of anger and hatred, Mark blogs about Erica on LiveJournal and simultaneously hacks Harvard network to download images of female undergrads for his ranking venture called “Facemash” that allows users to ranks girls on their hotness.

Eduardo Saverin serves the algorithm which serves the core idea of Facemash. Due to heated traffic to Kirkland network, the Harvard security gets hold of Mark and his fellows, blocks his blog and give him 6 months of academic probation.
