Undoubtedly, Facebook hashas evolved to be the social network of masses, you use it and your friends use it too but are you guys careful while trying the new quizzes or apps that pop in your account?
These apps, games and quizzes may be developed to steal your personal information, as told earlier about five deadly effects of Facebook, this identity theft is severely dangerous.
What is causing the real harm?
Almost all Facebook users are addicted to social games like Farmville etc. and try new ones almost every day, for them hackers and phishers are placing their net over Facebook – the social network.
These quizzes are dangerous and experts suggest the same, the popular quizzes in the Facebook such as “What sex and the city character are you?” or “What is your vampire power?” are dangerous according to ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). The User-Privacy is under threat.
It may steal sensitive data from your web-profile and sell it to spammers, other than some apps use root-kit ads which would place a Trojan into your computer if you are not using a good anti-virus or internet security tool.
What Steps should be taken?
Before trying any new application, go through their description, check the publisher details, website (if any) for their credibility and past. Google would be more than happy to serve you the desired information. This will keep your privacy maintained.
