Last year was a revolutionizing period for portable computing; we saw the emergence of tablets as a good portable computer, and iPad setting the standard of tablets. This year, however cheaper Android tablets become overly popular, and we have seen almost every other IT company releasing their version of Android Tab.
If you have been keeping up with the tech advancement lately, you would have seen several sub 15K tabs emerge be it Reliance 3G Tab, iBall Slide or Beetel Magiq and not to forget Aakash which costs only 3 grand.
I am talking about these cheap tablets because ViewSonic has released ViewPad 7e which (no points for guessing) runs on Android and costs about $200. ViewPad 7e tablet doesn’t run Honeycomb but Gingerbread which would have been disappointing if its price wouldn’t have been so low.
It has pretty cool specs for the price it is offered, it has a 1GHz ARM A8 processor, dual cameras, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 4GB of storage with a microSD card slot for expansion and HDMI output.
Umm… it doesn’t have support for Android Market which is very strange because a tablet is nothing; even a Smartphone is not smart enough without a good App Store. Hopefully, you would be able to download apps for ViewPad 7e from Amazon’s App Store.
Amazon itself is going to release a tablet under $200 – Kindle Fire. Let’s see how this war among cheap Android tabs turns out. My bet is on Amazon Kindle Fire, it is rocking!
What do you think about ViewPad 7e cheap Android tablet?
