Reliance recently introduced its own 3G Tablet PC named “Reliance 3G Tab.” It is a 7-inch Android Tablet PC and supports wide variety of applications from Android Market. Unlike all other Tablet PCs in the market, this one is different, first of all… you can get this Tablet PC for Rs. 12,999/- with Reliance 3G Data Plan (that’s a bit of a catch, but it is worth it, read further).

Well,
As of now, this might not support other SIM cards, however, why would someone want to use other 3G plans (more expensive than Reliance) on this Tablet.
The plans that Reliance offers are valid for 12 months. So make most use of it and later – just like the old reliance CDMA phone, try get this unlocked in Gaffar Market (Karol Bagh, New Delhi ) or similar places and maybe you would be able to use the other SIM cards too..
I have used 3G services for Vodafone, Airtel and Idea so far. The vodafone connectivity in excellent but is a little expensive. I am planning to try my hands on Reliance 3G and who knows… maybe this would be the Small wonder the India was looking for

Yeah, I totally agree with you, Reliance 3G Tab looks good and costs cheaper than almost all other Tabs in market, as of now. It would be a great buy for regular 3G users.
Guys at Gaffar Market can unlock anything, you can get PSPs, PS2s, Xbox, everything unlocked from there, even iPhone 4, but after a product is unlocked, it loses warranty.
don’t even go for reliance 3g i m using it n it is rubbish n hopeless…the day i started using the plan they cut off 1.2 gb from my account of 2 gb …w/o consuming..
I have not used Reliance 3G, did you try to complain this issue with their customer support?

You can get it from Authorized Reliance Stores, I don’t know about unlocking part.

go to rich street ( opposite to new secretariat ) in chennai .. you can unlock it … more than 25 shops …

Reliance 3G Tab would come locked to work only with Reliance 3G, so if you want to use 3G network of some other data carrier then you might have to get the device unlocked, like they do to AT&T and Verizon Phones in United States.
guys not only 3g u can use gprs/edge/gps
but it was horrible to surf using gprs.

2). How does is fare on the multi tasking department ? songs + surfing can be done simultaneously
3). How is screen responsiveness ?

Screen responsiveness is good (to be precise a little bit sluggish, but it doesn’t hurt).
No obligation for buying a 3G plan. One can own it for just Rs. 12,999.
as you seem to own it , can you tell if we can do “tab to pc” video chat through google talk or any other app through this tab.
Is Reliance 3G work’s in roaming location with the same package (Dubai, Singapore n London) Is reliance 3G is compatible to any Wi-Fi connection?

I’m very intrigued with the Reliance 3G Tab. I’ve been smitten with the Samsung for a while now, but I’m not ready to burn a hole in my pocket for it yet. So there are a few questions I’d like answered.
1) In comparison to the Samsung Galaxy Tab, how does this fare? (I’m not expecting it to be better, but a close match wouldn’t hurt!)
2) I found the data rates rather reasonable but found the catch about users shifting to existing 3G data plans after 12 months a little fishy. If I need another SIM card from Vodafone to be used, can I do so?
3) If I need the Tab unlocked, can anyone help me out with places in Mumbai I can have it unlocked in?

well frnd firstly is better on samsung for price. although resolution is bit less n cam is 2mp back n vga 1.3mp front. hv no idea for place in mumbai bt all i knw is dat it can b cracked
can we connect this tab with pc…and can we use it as a modem to access internet on pc and pleae tell should i take that risk of one year plan of 5 gb by paying in advance bcz it gives a lot of saving..and how good is the reliance 3g network???
I have heard that Reliance 3G Network isn’t as good as the company claim it to be. It runs on Android v2.3 and you can tether internet on your PC, that won’t be a problem. I suggest you go to a Reliance Store and ask for a demo.

No you cannot use your Vadafone 3G Plan on Reliance 3G Tab. You have to get it unlocked which would remove its 1 year limited warranty.
I’ve bought it without any 3G plan for 12,999/= from a Reliance web world in Mumbai.
Hmm… I asked from Reliance Store via Phone but they said you had to take 3G Plan from them. But if it can be bought without contract, that’s good.

No, The device would work on 2G network where Reliance’s 3G Network won’t be available but if you are think to run this tab on some other carrier’s 2G network, that won’t be possible.

No, you can’t, this tablet is not a computer, it is a mobile device, you can run internet from this device on your computer but not on a cell phone.
