LG to show off 4K resolution LCD TVs at CES 2012

lg-4k-resolution-lcd-tv-ces-2012In 2011, during the time of CES, LG indicated that they are working on a high-resolution Television with a really large display, but unfortunately, it was not displayed at CES 2011.

Now, however, as the CES 2012 is approaching, it is possible that LG is going to show off their 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution TVs there.

LG’s 84-inch ‘ultra-definition’ 4K resolution TVs along with 55-inch with OLED screen TVs would serve as great eye-candies at CES 2012 which is going to happen in Las Vegas. These next-gen TVs utilizes LG’s Cinema 3D and Smart TV technology which basically renders all digital content (using Film Pattern Retarder) in three dimensions and extends a Televisions horizon by adding services like Skype, Netflix etc. respectively. LG’s 4K resolution TVs would also have the upgraded Magic Motion Remote & Mouse Controls.

As of now, there are not too many companies who produce digital entertainment content in 4K resolution thus these TVs would probably be used to enjoy 3D content, but with those ugly glasses. Since these TVs have a really high display resolution, regular HD or Full HD videos and movies might also look pixellated, although Blu-ray movies might run well.

It would take a really large living room to place this gigantic television, maybe, it would be utilized in telecasting live sports events in hotels etc. In any case, this gigantic television would cost way beyond what a normal person can afford.

As of now, nothing about the pricing or release date of these 4K resolution TVs has been revealed. We’d have to wait for CES 2012 to see what LG has to offer.
