Which Tablet PCs are really Awesome?

The latest in demand electronic device is tablet PCs.  Advancements in technology, along with competitive pricing, have made these compact powerhouses so popular that they will top a multitude of wish lists this year.  A plethora of manufacturers has entered the competition, so the variety of tablet options is vast and varied.  How will you be able to choose?

First, think about the way you will use your tablet most often.  Will you use it for email, social media, word processing, surfing, drawing, or other tasks?  How big a screen do you want?  You can get a tablet PC with a screen as small as 7 inches or as big as almost 14 inches.  Do you want to be able to read it in the sunlight?  Is Android best for you?

Once you’ve narrowed down your needs, it’s time to start shopping.  Here are a few models that have received top reviews from editors and consumers.  There are many excellent tablet PCs available, but these are proven winners.

10-inch Screen Tablet PC

Asus Eee Pad Transformer is a Honeycomb 3.0 tablet that has received high praise from consumers.  It features both front and rear cameras and is an excellent choice for users who prefer Google apps.  The Transformer is also the lowest priced of the popular 10-inch models and offers an affordable keyboard/dock option.

samsung galaxy tab 10.1

Weighing only 1.24 pounds, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a lightweight, sleek, and powerful tablet.  The slim profile and minimalist design has the appeal of the iPod 2, but actually weighs less. The screen delivers a crisp, clear image that makes browsing a pleasure.

7-inch Screen Tablet PC

barnes & noble nook

You may not expect to find an e-book reader on this list, but the Barnes & Noble Nook Color is much more than a reader. This little dynamo offers the functionality of an Android tablet, but costs only half as much as an iPod2.  The vibrant touch screen, quick performance, and other features make this a top pick for many consumers.

The Nook Color may face some serious competition, however, as the Amazon Kindle Fire comes to the market.  Look for reviews after it is released November 15, 20ll, but it is  predicted to be a strong contender in the multifunctional e-reader market and will sell for under $200.

The desire for these compact little tablet PCs is snowballing rapidly.  As the demand grows, so does the variety of available models.  Be sure to do your homework before you decide which tablet is the right one for you.
