There were some rumors in the blogosphere that Amazon is developing its own version of an Android Tablet and it seems Amazon have given a name to that rumor – Kindle Fire Tablet.
The Kindle Fire tablet has been announced today and would be launched for sale later this year. Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet runs Android but its user interface would be similar to Kindle eReader. It feels Amazon didn’t wanted to create a stand alone Tablet but a Kindle with apps.
Other than that, it would have a nice 7 inch display screen, Wi-Fi connectivity and would be priced at $199. There are not too many Android Tablets in the market that have such a low price tag but there is a reason why Kindle Fire Tablet is priced low, there is no embedded camera, or microphone, or even 3G support in the Kindle Fire Tablet, although Amazon has tried to compensate for it by bundling a 30-day trial of Amazon Prime.
More details about the hardware specs like Processor, RAM etc. would be unveiled in the Amazon Kindle Tablet event. Stay Tuned.
