Zynga’s Facebook game Cityville has so far broken almost every record Farmville ever made. The year 2010 was totally flooded with Farmville updates as every other news reported some sort of achievement of Farmville Facebook game.

A recent release from zynga.com Cityville Facebook has knocked Farmville off its throne. The game was launched on Dec 2, 2010 which is less than a month ago and according to reports it got nearly 290,000 active players on its first day.

The popularity of the game didn’t got subsidized there by big names from zynga itself like Mafia Wars Facebook game or Farmville Facebook game but the player’s strength kept on increasing. In a few days more than 3 million people on Facebook were building their own cities.

These were just some stats in the first week but hang on, while many people estimated it to be just another social game, it came out to be “The Biggest Social Game” on Facebook with crossing over 72.5 million active users per month which nearly 25% more than Farmville.

Whoa, these numbers are really huge, I can only imagine the revenue the brand must be getting from invading Facebook with these games.
