The Billion Dollar Idea Relived with Social games
Social Gaming is expected to rise up to become a billion dollar business by the end of this year. Social Games are one of the major areas where Programmers and Application Developers are focusing at the moment.
Facebook Games and Social Games from Zynga.com ruled the Social Games category in the last year. Zynga.com is a billion dollar Internet Industry at the moment and the credit certainly goes to Mafia Wars, Farmville, Yoville, Cityville and all other Ville games.
Social Gaming is on rise, if you don’t have many kids in your profile you might not understand what I am trying to say.
Social games are played by everyone just for fun, I read the status of a friend the other which said, ‘Can’t neglect the rising pile of game request, joining Cityville right now.’
Social Games to Turn $1 Billion Industry
Market Analysts studied the patterns of rise of Social Gaming in the past year and have come to this conclusion that more than 27% of online audience would play at least one of the above mentioned Social games.
Social Games Trivia No. 1
Did you know? People in The United States spent $510 million on buying Virtual goods to stay ahead from their friends in Social games; the most were obviously earned by Farmville because Cityville was launched late in December.
Ad Revenue Maximizing via Social Games
Social games is not limited to earn revenue from just selling online goods but it is also a major advertising location for game developers and those who run websites related to MMORPG.
Since nearly 27% of internet users are expected to spend at least 30 regular days of gameplay, the extent of advertising revenue is bound to rise.
By the end of 2011, a major portion of Social games’ revenue i.e. $248 million is expected to come from direct advertising.
Social Structure Renovated
Facebook and Ibibo are not the only social networks in the world that are promoting Social games. There are many other companies too but Facebook has become so much successful of the already present 500 million user base.
The Social Structure on which Facebook was based is losing its momentum slowly because of heavy introduction of Social Media marketing.
Social games are just another business but are they the right way to earn money from the time people spend on the web? I leave this question’s answer up to you.
