Rovio Entertainment, developers of Angry Birds values itself higher
It seems that Rovio entertainment in on cloud 9 after the huge success of Angry Birds that they have started to value themselves greater than PopCap games to acquire whom EA is shelling out a massive 1.3 billion.
“The valuation from our point of view is somewhere, I dunno, maybe north of PopCap,” said VP of franchise development Ville Heijari in an interview, he added that, “We’ve set the bar pretty high from early on, because we really think we have a lot of opportunities with our Angry Birds IP and there’s a lot of creativity at the studio beyond Angry Birds.”
It is a fact that Angry Birds is a very successful game from Rovio and is loved world over but they mustn’t underestimate the value of guys that are behind other successful titles for iOS platform viz. Bejeweled, Bookworm and Plants vs Zombies.
By the way, this cold war could be beneficial for users, because both the companies would raise the bar, just to survive the environment. What do you think?
