Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS: Trial Out!

Microsoft has released another OEM for its Latest Operating System for Smartphones. You must have heard of Windows Phone 7, this OEM called Windows Embedded Compact 7 is also designed to work on Windows Phones, it is like a compact version of Windows Phone 7 OS and Windows 7, which you use on your PC.

Microsoft posted a 180 days free trial Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS on their blog for developers and other manufacturers to download. Its susceptibility in real-life situations like in medical fields depends upon the developers and program writers too.

It is specifically designed to power phones (including Windows Phones), medical devices, industrial automation products and retail systems and Tablet PCs as well. WEC 7 is a multi-purpose OS can be used for anything and everything, it is available to edit so if you are programmer, you can try your hand on it.

No Tablet PC running on WEC 7 has come into market nor has Microsoft said anything about Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS powered Tablets but the OS seems to be developed for multiple devices and it looks quite flexible too.

Microsoft’s first real Tablet PC OS seems to be Windows 8 which is currently under development phase and might come into market in 2012. At that time there would be Tablet PCs from HP In market too which means that more competitors for Microsoft.
