Google Adds Path Re-Routing to Google Maps Navigation on Android
Google Maps Navigation available on Android has also added Traffic Re-Routing to their services. I didn’t know much about Traffic Re-Routing nor the Google Maps Navigation Application so I decided to do some research about it.
What is Traffic Re-Routing?
The research revealed that every good GPS system routes our travel route which is aimed to reduce the time taken to travel from one destination to other.
It may sometime happen that there might be some sort of traffic jam in the shortest route which the GPS initially advised to follow. With real-time analysis the Google Maps Navigation Map Re-Routes the paths and thus gives you the shortest path with which you can reach your destination in minimum amount of time.
It’s like real-time analysis and application of what’s happening around you while you are travelling, this could save a lot of time and makes GPS Navigation much more fruitful.
Google Challenges Traditional GPS Systems
I am not saying that traditional GPS Systems don’t work but not many people use it, do they? I am not sure if everyone is using a GPS System for their cars in Europe and North America.
Whether they are using any system like that or not, one thing can’t be denied that people need tracks and maps to find their way to their destinations because sometimes hand maps don’t work the way they intend to.
Other than that Google seems to be changing the way people reach their places in minimum time. Almost everyone owns a Smartphone today, integrating a good Google Maps Navigations System with a Smartphone is a really good idea.
What’s next in Google GPS?
Google is planning to real better, real-time and accurate traffic updates and maps therefore making travel easier and real-time re-routing possible. There are too many applications for Android Platform but this one looks really very useful, at least for those who travel a lot and often take the wrong turn.
What do you think about Real Time Re-Routing concept of Google Maps Navigation Application for Android?
