First-ever Public Picture snapped by the 8-megapixel shutter of Apple iPhone 5

A picture uploaded in the Flickr account of an Apple engineer is claimed to be the first ever picture taken from iPhone 5’s 8-megapixel camera. This picture was first discovered by PocketNow. Earlier this picture was supposed to be taken by iPhone 4 but the EXIF data in the picture said otherwise.

This (very attractive) photo claims to have been taken by an iPhone 4, but the rest of its EXIF data tells a different story: although the image has been cropped to 2235×2291 (5.12 megapixels), the original picture was a much larger 3264×2448 — or just shy of eight megapixels. What’s more, the lens was recorded as a 4.3mm f/2.4, which is closer to that of a point-and-shoot than the iPhone 4?s actual 3.85mm f/2.8.

iPhone 4 has a f/2.8 lens while this picture was taken from a device that had f/2.4 lens. It is quite possible that this picture is taken from upcoming iPhone, the picture you’re seeing is possibly taken within Apple’s Headquarters. After this picture became a hot topic for discussion on the Internet, that Apple engineer quietly removed the picture from his Flickr, smart move!

I feel this may be the picture taken from iPhone 5 Prototype. What do you feel?
