Apple introduces the next generation of Apple iMac running on Sandy Bridge

If you are looking to buy a new desktop computer then please take the next generation of Apple iMacs into consideration as well because they have just received some of the latest hardware technologies today.

Last year Apple had replaced the Intel Core 2 Duo processors on iMacs with Intel Core Series processors and this time they have done something similar.

The next generation of Apple iMacs would have the latest Core processors from Intel i.e. Sandy Bridge which are specifically designed to give you the fastest computing experience with improved battery life, although battery life is insignificant in this case as we are talking about a desktop computer.

The Latest Sandy Bridge iMacs

The Apple iMacs would be available in 2 variants. One with a 21.5 inch widescreen display (1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution) priced at $1199 and the other with 27 inch widescreen display (2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution) priced at $1999.

This major difference in price of both Apple iMacs is not just because of their display screen size but the 27 inch model also has an advanced hardware configuration which justifies the relative pricing of this New Apple iMac computer.

The 21.5 inch Apple iMac has 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor and 512MB of AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics while the 27 inch Apple iMac has 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 CPU and 1GB of AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics.

One can also upgrade his 27 inch Apple iMac to 3.4GHz quad-core Core i7 proc and 2GB of HD 6970M graphics by paying an additional amount of money.

These next generation Apple iMacs would be working on the best configuration possible for a computer so if a person doesn’t mind paying $2500+ for a desktop computer then he should definitely go with an extended version of 27 inch Apple iMac.

The latest Apple iMacs would also have Apple’s latest video conferencing technology i.e. Facetime HD to chat in best picture quality with their Apple friends by which I mean people who have any of the Apple devices.

This is not all; the latest iMacs are embedded with Thunderbolt I/O ports which makes transfer of data from iMac to a solid state drive fast as a supersonic jet (just a simile). Thunderbolt I/O ports enable data transfers at a rate as high as 10Gbps.

The looks and feel of Apple iMacs running on Sandy Bridge is just the same as its earlier models, the real change lies in iMacs’ hardware configuration.
