According to a mobile app market research firm research2guidance, more than 500,000 applications have been submitted for Android Platform up till September, this year, out of which 37% of submissions were rejected because of variety of reasons.
But does that mean Android has surpassed Apple? Definitely not because Apple hit over 600,000 submissions by the same time out which 24% of submission were rejected because of low-quality content, demos, outdated content etc.
research2guidance firm also suggested that Apple still has a larger amount of active apps on their store, Apple’s submission guidelines are quite stiff that’s why you won’t be able to find “multiple trial or low quality applications” there whereas publishers use Android Market consistently for “market testing, trials, demo and malware content.”
So, even if the numbers suggest Android Market is close to Apple Store, in reality it isn’t. It’s similar to that old-school quote, “Quality matter much more than Quantity.”
